Birthday Party Rental Agreement

Standard VMT Birthday Party Package

$150 for non-members; $120 for members.

• Birthday party room (Main Street Station) for two hours (plus 30 minutes before and after for set-up and clean-up), including use of tables and chairs. The room is heated/air conditioned.
• Free admission to the museum for the entire day for up to 16 guests (adults and/or children).
• All party attendees must check in at the front window and receive a wristband.
• There is a $5 charge for each additional guest (adult or child). Members may use Member Guest Cards for additional guests. The Museum will make adjustments for additional guests on the day of the event. Maximum of 25 people in the party room by order of the Fire Marshal.

Optional add-on

The museum is open Tuesday–Saturday 10:00am–5:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm–5:00pm. There are two time slots on Saturday and one on Sunday.

The party

• All reservations are tentative until a signed agreement with deposit ($75 non-members, $60 members) is received. If we do not receive your agreement and your non-refundable deposit, your requested event date will be removed from our calendar. We cannot guarantee the appearance of the museum or placement of exhibits for the time of your event. We will not remove banners, flags, or seasonal decorations for your event.
• All party attendees must check in at the front window and receive a wristband.
• Children must be supervised by adults at all times and may not explore the museum or rail yard by themselves. All museum signs and directives must be obeyed.
• Tables and other objects may not be placed against the walls, exhibits, displays, or artifacts. Decorations may NOT be attached by any means to the walls, exhibits, displays, or artifacts.
• For the safety of the exhibits in the museum, open flames and candles are not permitted.
• If you should need to cancel or re-schedule your event for any reason, including inclement weather, contact the Museum immediately. Depending on availability, we will try to accommodate your re-scheduling request. If we cannot reschedule or you elect to cancel your reservation, you will receive a refund less the $60 non-refundable deposit. Special arrangements will be made in case of extreme weather.
• The renter is responsible for cleaning up after the party, including proper disposal of all food, decorations, wrapping paper, and wiping down tables and chairs.
